Bill and Melinda Gates are well known for many reasons. Besides their astronomical wealth, they were one of the most influential couple the world had every seen right until yesterday when they announced their divorce after 27 years of marriage. The news came as a surprise to almost everyone as the couple had been actively working together towards multiple philanthropic ventures as a part of the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. A few years ago, they had decided to donate 95% of their entire fortune to philanthropy as a part of The Giving Pledge initiative. Their Foundation has done a lot of work in India also. They played a big role in eradicating polio in India. They also received the Padma Bhushan award in 2015 for their work in India.
