In late 2021, aspiring van life Instagram influencer Gabby Petito went missing and her fiancé, Brian Laundrie, who traveled with Petito, was a person of interest in the case. Shortly after news of Petito’s disappearance made headlines, Laundrie returned to his parents’ home in Florida, only to disappear a short time later. Gabby Petito’s remains were then found in Wyoming, where the couple had traveled, and her cause of death was ruled to be homicide. Now, this grisly story has come to a morbid end as Laundrie’s own remains have been found in a nature reserve nearby his family’s house.
