April 22 – Before the Vows – Shakir met Barbara in 2010 at a club in DC where he was working as a DJ. He says at first glance he knew he had to have her. She lived in Pennsylvania at the time and he would go back and forth from California trying to convince her to come back to live with him. Barbara said after a year he finally wore her down with one exception she needed a ring as a firm commitment before she would move. After two years of living together they had a daughter. Barbara says when Shakir was trying to win her over he was a different man. Shakir says all Barbara does is complain about leaving her family and sacrificing for him.
