The newly divorced Diana, Princess of Wales arrived in Washington D.C. Monday for a two day private visit.
It is her first trip abroad since her divorce was finalised from the heir to the British throne, Prince Charles.
She will attend various functions and fund raisers including a charity breakfast hosted by the First Lady – Hillary Clinton.
Diana, Princess of Wales, as she is now known, arrived in Washington D.C. Monday night for a two-day visit.
The private trip is her first holiday since her divorce from Prince Charles was finalised at the end of August.
She will join First Lady Hillary Clinton and 120 other guests for breakfast Tuesday at the White House.
The guests will include fashion designers helping to raise cash for breast cancer research.
The meeting with Hillary Clinton is immediate proof that, although Diana is technically no longer a member of the British royal family, she is
still regarded as royalty in America.
And on Wednesday evening, the Princess is likely to be at her most glamorous for a Washington charity gala to aid the Nina Hyde Breast Cancer Fund, named after the late women’s fashion editor of “The Washington Post.”
She will also attend a celebrity lunch at the home of former “Washington Post” publisher Katharine (correct spelling) Graham.
The Princess is staying with her friend Lucia Flecha de Lima, wife of the Brazilian ambassador to Washington.
It is her third visit to the U-S in nine months.
